Why does the exit from the crisis will take longer than expected ?

Negative interest rates - when you get charged for depositing money at the bank.

Negative interest rates are a sign of the financial system not working normally.

Banks are holding about $700 billion in excess reserves at the FED.

The consequence of a negative interest rate regime pursued by central banks is to shift the pain of deflation from banks to depositors, from debtors to creditors.

INTEREST rates are very low around the developed world; near-zero in nominal terms and negative in real terms.

Negative real interest rates are the product of aggressive monetary policy by a central bank and have a profound impact on the movement of capital within an economy

The problem with negative interest rates, however, is quickly apparent: nobody would lend on those terms.

The shrinking universe of safe-haven assets is forcing investors to pay negative rates to park cash in guaranteed custody accounts.

While it’s impossible for computers to reason or form concepts  using relational databases, they can do exactly that with linked  data in graph databases.

How to make profits soaring when revenues tumble?

Burger King refranchised 519 restaurants during the past year.
Refranchising is the process of selling company-owned stores back to franchisees.
Wendy's began refranchising 425 stores this past summer amid something of a recovery by turning around its operations and generating profits from losses in the year-ago period.
Although revenues take a hit initially, the concept reduces the parent company's overhead while providing it a generally stable stream of income. But it's a delicate balance, as strong operators need to be installed so that you don't end up with a drag on overall performance.

The risks of talking too much

The risks of talking too much

A Clearwater police officer allegedly shot a man on Saturday, Oct. 26 after that man expressed suicidal thoughts to a friend earlier in the day.

Police were called to 3018 Merrill Avenue. at 4:21 p.m. after the man's friend became concerned. The man, possibly in his 60s, reportedly told his friend he had no reason to live because of various problems he was having. The friend called police an hour after leaving the Merrill Avenue residence.

When police arrived, they tried talking to the man via his house phone and cell phone. They also used a loudspeaker on a police cruiser outside the home, but the man reportedly ignored them.

Authorities say the man then came out of the house armed with a gun. He refused police commands to drop the weapon. Fearing for their safety, one of the officers fired a single shot.

The man was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a 6:30 p.m.

The officer, a 12-year veteran, was not injured. He was placed on paid administrative leave.
