United States of America - population:

311,591,917 (2011)

One IRS employee for 3,338 Americans


Germany - population

81,726,000 (2011)

The German IRS, the BZSt, has 1,400 employees
According to the Bundesministerium der Finanzen 2006 Data Book.

One BZSt (IRS German equivalent) employee for 5,837 Germans.

Number of self-employed in US

In 2009, 15.3 million individuals in the U.S. were self-employed, including both those who had incorporated their businesses and those who had not.

The self- employment rate, was 10.9 percent, rate at a four-year low.

In 2010, 11.5 percent of immigrants in the U.S. were self-employed, rate at four-year high.

How much money has Apple in China?

According to the Apple earnings call, the company had a whopping $137 billion dollars in cash at the end of December.

 About two-thirds of that money, "about $91 billion," was "offshore" at the end of December, according to Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer.

They’ve cut $400 million out of their own operating budget.
