Disposable income is total personal income minus personal current taxes.

In March 2013, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)

Personal income  was:

and

Disposable personal income (DPI)   
 $33,216.00

How many hedge funds are in the U.S.?

Hedge-fund databases, BarclayHedge  contains 4996 hedge funds and 24376 Funds (hedge funds + Fund of Fund) .

Morningstar’s hedge fund database contains data on 7,000 actively reporting funds from more than 3,700 managers. Additionally, Morningstar offers historical information on more than 12,000 dead hedge funds.

One IRS employee for 3,338 Americans


Germany - population

81,726,000 (2011)

The German IRS, the BZSt, has 1,400 employees
According to the Bundesministerium der Finanzen 2006 Data Book.

One BZSt (IRS German equivalent) employee for 5,837 Germans.

Number of self-employed in US

In 2009, 15.3 million individuals in the U.S. were self-employed, including both those who had incorporated their businesses and those who had not.

The self- employment rate, was 10.9 percent, rate at a four-year low.

In 2010, 11.5 percent of immigrants in the U.S. were self-employed, rate at four-year high.
